Your KOVR profile is your digital resume. Since most hiring decisions on the platform happen quickly, having a complete and professional profile is the single most important thing you can do to get more shifts.

The Essentials

To be considered for shifts, your profile must include:

  • A Professional Photo – High-quality, clear headshot with a friendly expression. Avoid filters, sunglasses, or busy backgrounds.
  • Work History – List relevant experience in hospitality, events, retail, or other service industries.
  • Skills & Certifications – Add specific skills like "Bartending," "Point of Sale," or "Forklift Operation." Don't forget to upload your certifications (e.g., Food Handler, TIPS).

Writing a Great Bio

Your bio should be concise but informative. Focus on what makes you a reliable and skilled worker.

Example Bio:

"Experienced server and bartender with 4+ years in high-volume hospitality environments. Punctual, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing excellent guest experiences. Fluent in Spanish and certified in food safety."

Adding Your Experience

When adding past roles, include the company name, your title, and a brief bulleted list of your responsibilities. If you have unique experience (like working at large festivals or VIP events), be sure to mention it.

Certifications & Documents

Many high-paying shifts require specific certifications. Uploading these documents to your profile allows the system to automatically qualify you for those shifts.

  • Food Safety (ServSafe, etc.)
  • Alcohol Service (TIPS, LEAD, etc.)
  • Technical Licenses (Security, Heavy Machinery)

The "Preferred" Status

When you perform well on a shift, employers can add you to their **Preferred Roster**. This gives you priority access to their future shifts. The best way to start building these relationships is with a profile that shows you take your work seriously.

Pro-Tip: Profiles with a complete work history and at least one certification get approved for shifts 3x more often than incomplete ones.
